Liverpool Transfer Targets; The Latest

This season’s summer transfer window has already opened as of May 17th due to the changes in rules. With it, the gates have also opened for a swarm of transfer rumours. After Liverpool’s remarkable European campaign which has yet to see a conclusion, along with their guaranteed participation in next season’s UCL; they are bound to be involved in a majority of transfer rumours over the next 2 months.

Liverpool sold Brazillian playmaker Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona in the January Transfer window for a staggering 142 million pounds. Additionally, they’ve alos pocketed a sum of 70 million for their current PL campaign. Add to that their annual earnings through TV deals, merchandise sale etc. and they have a solid budget to bolster their squad for the summer. In this article we’ll take a look at potential incoming targets Jurgen Klopp will look to bring in to Anfield for the 2018/19 season.

Ousmane Dembele :-

The 21 year old French winger made his dream move to Barcelona last summer for 110 million from Borussia Dortmund. However, injuries and off field problems with coach Ernesto Valverde has resulted in a slow start to his career at the Camp Nou.

Rumours have suggested that Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing dembele to Anfield on a loan deal with an option to buy. Liverpool’s front three have been very fortunate this season in avoiding long term injury. So it’s only logical that Klopp would be interested in bringing in cover for the stellar front three.

Hoeever, other reports have suggested that though Barcelona are interested in a loan deal they do not wish to include the option to buy. Thus stalling negotiations. Only time will tell what happens with this one. However, given what Klopp can produce with young talent it is in the player’s best interest to seek a move to Merseyside.

Chritian Pulisic:-

The 19 year old USA born star has set the Bundesliga ablaze with his performances for Borussia Dortmund. The metro have linked the American young star with a move to Anfield. Chirtsian Pulisic has been previously linked with a move to Merseyside over the last year.

A price of close to 60 million Euros has been quoted around the web, however this just seems as a rumour mill prospect as of now. However, it is believable that Klopp would go back for a player he has always been a fan of.

Jack Butland:-

Stoke city were relgated from the Premeire League this season. That means that prrmiere league clubs will surely be looking to pick out the star players that stood out over the season. Including Xherdan Shaqiri and Jack Butland.

Liverpool have been linked with the England no.1 for a long time. Liverpool now find themselves in a position to acquire his signature for a cut price given Stoke city’s exit to the championship.

Nabil Fekir:-

This transfer seems most likely to be nailed on as Canal+ along with RMCsport reporting that the star Frenchmen has already agreed a move to Liverpool and only formalities are left for both clubs.

Fekir was subbed off during Lyon’s last game of the season and the emotions around the stadium suggested that it was his final game. The fee being quoted is 62 million pounds which would be a steal in this market.

He has been touted as a replacement for Coutinho. However, further analysis suggests that Fekir is more of an improvement to the Klopp system as he fits the tactics far better than Coutinho ever would have.
