Liverpool visit bottom club Swansea City with the intentions of building on the massive win versus run away leaders Manchester City.
Liverpool face the struggling Welsh side less than a month after putting them to the sword on boxing day. The Anfield result was not a true reflection of the game as the Swans put up a fight after going behind early, but the Reds scored thrice in 14 minutes to early after half-time to settle the tie.
Leon Britton was care-taker boss for the fixture and was soon replaced with the permanent appointment of Carlos Carvalhal. Four points from his first three games which included a tight home loss to Spurs has given the Swans some hope of surviving the drop. They have a been slightly more solid defensively but still lack a cutting edge upfront, although they do have some good raw materials in Bony, Narsingh, Fer and Ayew. They lined up with a back 3 versus Spurs, so we might see the same again.
Liverpool come into the game flying, having handed Man City their first defeat this season, they also extended their own unbeaten streak to 14 matches in the league. With players playing once a week for a while and also recovering from the receiving the words. Liverpool have only brought in Virgil for Lovren and will they stick to the 433 formation.
The Swans will come to fight but Liverpool’s quality will run them into submission.
Prediction: 0 – 2.
