Following the late swoop last night, it was confirmed earlier today that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has completed his move from Arsenal for a fee in the region of £35m. He completed his medical and contract while on international duty with England. Opinion is divided among Liverpool fans as to what his role within the team will be and how much of an impact he will have; only time will tell what Klopp has planned for the 24 year old, but it is certain that his versatility is what attracted our German coach to pay such a high fee. Reports indicate that Oxlade-Chamberlain turned down significantly higher wages at both Chelsea and Arsenal in order to become part of Klopp’s tricky Reds. So hats off to him. We here at Anfield Press wish him the best of luck and hope he has a long, successful career at the club.
With regards to further activity in the transfer market, there is nothing concrete to report at this time. Its all plane spotting, Mercedes’ stalking and removal vans, so keep refreshing those Twitter feeds and watch our account @anfieldpress and @AdrianCocking who will be at Melwood later for all the latest news.
