Adrian recently interviewed Anfield Express with questions related to transfer gossip and what he expects from the Reds this season.
Q1.What can you expect from the latest signing Andy Robertson? And can you see him starting the first game of the season ahead of Milner?

A1. I’m happy that we’ve signed a proper left-back for the first time in years to be fair! Thought we had that with Moreno who turned out to be more of a winger, and Milner didn’t perform at that full-back level, which isn’t surprising. But I hope/think Robertson will be vital for us and I hope people don’t underestimate him. I think he’ll start over Milner too.
Q2. How can you see Liverpool lining up the first game of the season against Watford and why?
( Van Dijk in action for Southampton – Photo from Southampton FC)
A2. I think Mignolet will start in goal, has to be, stay with the consistency, Clyne, Matip, Van Dijk and Robertson leading the back line can see Henderson starting over Can based on performance and pre-season fitness. Hopefully, we have Naby Keita by then partnering the midfield with Coutinho in that 8 role. Then a front 3 of Salah, Firmino and Mane.
Q3. With Liverpool’s Champions League Qualifier approaching up, who would your preferred opponents be for them to face?
( When Liverpool last featured in the Champions League back in 2014/15 season against Ludogorets – Photo from Liverpool FC)
A3. Wouldn’t mind us having a close one, France or Switzerland wouldn’t be bad for travel, I’d take YBFC given on the result we had against them in 12/13 Europa League, but a more ideal one in terms of straight progress would be Viktora Plzen
Q4. With Liverpool potentially being in all Competitions, do you think they have the squad depth for 2/3 different teams?
A4. Definitely, think with us getting Keita in midfield is vital, and keep Sturridge up front – who can play anywhere across the front line is also vital, our squad depth will be much better than last season and will only get better and bigger year by year.
Q5.Do you think Klopp can lead Liverpool to silver ware this season?
( Last time Liverpool won silver ware back in 2012 League Cup – Photo from Liverpool FC )
A5. Definitely, think it’s vital for the fans and for his own well being, fans haven’t seen silver ware properly in the last decade and as I said on the podcast – it’s his 3rd year now and Rodgers was let go after his 3rd for not presenting silverware, it’s vital.
Q6. Lastly where do you see Liverpool finishing in the table and why?
A6. I’m going for 3rd, I think we’ve improved since last season, especially when we get in Keita and VVD, think our team is solid and could challenge for the league if we’re lucky.
